Josse-François-Joseph Benaut
Josse -François -Joseph Benaut (* 1743 in Gullegem, Belgium, † July 13, 1794 in Paris) was a Belgian organist, harpsichordist and composer.
Life and work
Benaut was a master of the harpsichord at the Royal Abbey of Montmartre. In 1776 he began the publication of his works on a subscription basis.
From Benaut nine books with organ works have survived, this includes among other things:
- Fairs, hymns, Magnificat, verses Noëls
- 9 Variations on O Filii
- Carillon des morts
