Jost de Jager

Jost de Jager ( born March 7, 1965 in Rendsburg ) is a German politician ( CDU). He was from 2009 to 2012 as Minister for Science, Economics and Transport Member of the State Government of Schleswig -Holstein. From 24 September 2011 to January 10, 2013 he was state chairman of the CDU Schleswig -Holstein. In addition, he was the top candidate of his party for the state election in Schleswig -Holstein in 2012.

Life and career

Jost de Jager grew up in Gettorf up as the son of a Protestant pastor. After graduation in 1985 at the high school Kronshagen de Jager made ​​initially from his military service and then began in 1987 studying history, English and political science at the Christian- Albrechts- University of Kiel, which he finished in 1994 as Master of Arts. He then completed until 1996 as an intern at the Evangelical Press in Kiel.

Party

Jost de Jager belonged from 1988 to 1992 the state board of the Junge Union and from 1988 to 2005 the CDU Land Executive in Schleswig- Holstein.

Jost de Jager was Deputy Chairman of the CDU district association Rendsburg -Eckernförde, whose board he joined in 1988. He also heads the Evangelical Working Group of the CDU in Schleswig -Holstein. At the state convention in 2008 de Jager was elected to the State Executive Committee of the Schleswig-Holstein CDU as assessor.

After a relationship of the state chairman of the CDU Schleswig -Holstein, Christian von Boetticher, had become acquainted with a sixteen -year-olds, this occurred on August 14, 2011 from his post and also waived his top candidate for the state elections in Schleswig -Holstein in 2012. On September 24, 2011 de Jager was first elected at a special party CDU in Kiel with 93.4 percent of the new CDU state chairman and then on 4 November at a party congress in Lübeck with 90.4 percent as the top candidate of the CDU for the state election.

In the state elections in Schleswig- Holstein in 2012 on 6 May 2012, the CDU reached 30.8 percent, led by Jost de Jager, and thus became the strongest party. They won 22 of the 69 parliamentary seats, the SPD was 30.4 percent, just behind the CDU and received the same number of seats.

Despite the profit of the relative majority for the CDU, the previous coalition of CDU and FDP lost its previous majority.

SPD's top candidate Torsten Albig became the new Prime Minister.

On January 8, 2013 de Jager announced to resign as state chairman on 10 January 2013, and completely withdraw from active politics. He will also no longer a candidate for No. 1 on the Schleswig-Holstein list for the parliamentary elections in 2013 and on the direct nomination of the Bundestag constituency Flensburg - Schleswig refrain. On March 16, 2013 Böge was elected his successor.

Member of Parliament

From 1996 until the resignation of his mandate on 27 April 2005 de Jager was a member of the Landtag of Schleswig -Holstein. Here he belonged from 2000 to 2005 on the board of the CDU parliamentary group and was from 2002 to 2005 deputy CDU parliamentary group. From 2002 to 2005 he was also Vice-Chairman of the Education Committee.

Jost de Jager is collected in 1996 and 2000 on the national list and 2005 elected directly as delegates of the constituency Eckernförde in the state legislature. In the 2005 parliamentary elections, he reached here 43.3% of the primary vote. In the 2012 election he remained without parliamentary mandate, as the CDU won all of their 22 parliamentary mandates directly and the CDU state list on which he won the first place, did not come to fruition. Thus he resigned from the parliament of Schleswig -Holstein.

Public offices

On 27 April 2005, Jost de Jager has been appointed as Secretary, Ministry of Science, Economic Affairs and Transport of Schleswig -Holstein led by Prime Minister Carstensen state government.
