The Jostabeere or Josta (Ribes × nigridolaria ), in southern Germany often sunstroke, in Austria also Rigatze or Joglbeere is a berry fruit; it is as an addition bastard mainly from the two styles Black Currant ( Ribes nigrum) and gooseberries (Ribes uva- crispa ) emerged, the North American species Ribes was crossed divaricatum. The Art Name " Josta " was formed as a portmanteau of the names of the two original plants currant and gooseberry.

The Josta is associated botanically the gooseberry family ( Grossulariaceae ). There are shrubs with broad upright to overhanging growth and unreinforced drives. The fruits grow in clusters to three to five and are similar in shape and color of a large black currant, but are not as big as gooseberries. You are deep black, with a sweet flavor and high vitamin C content. The maturation period is mid-June to July, the fruits do not ripen all at once. The income is regular and higher than that of the parent species, the Pflückbarkeit is usually reduced because the berries hanging on the bush pretty solid.

The fruit is suitable for producing aromatic jams, marmalades, jellies and juices, for the production of liqueurs, but also for Rohgenuss. A long-term defroster is possible without sacrificing quality.

First crosses between the currant Ribes × succirubrum and several gooseberry varieties led Erwin Baur in 1922 by; He stated that, at that time sunstroke. Goal was to develop mildew-resistant berry fruits. As a result, some varieties were read out and offered in West Germany since the late 1970s. At about the same time, hybrids were bred from black currants and gooseberries and disseminated under the variety name ' Jocheline ' in the GDR as well.
