Josu Iriondo

Josu Iriondo ( born December 19, 1938 in Legazti ) is a Spanish priest and emeritus auxiliary bishop in New York.

Life

Josu Iriondo received on 23 December 1962, the ordination of the Spanish diocese of San Sebastian and was incardinated in the clergy of the Archdiocese of New York in 1994.

Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop on 30 October 2001 in New York and Titular Bishop of Alton. The Archbishop of New York, Cardinal Edward Michael Egan, dedicated it on 12 December of the same year the bishop; Co-consecrators were Henry Joseph Mansell, Bishop of Buffalo, and Robert Anthony Brucato, Auxiliary Bishop of New York.

Pope Francis took on February 1, 2014, his age-related withdrawal.
