Josu Sarriegi

Josu Sarriegi Zumarraga ( born February 23, 1976 in Lazkao, Spain ) is a Spanish footballer who plays in the position of central defender.

Josu Sarriegi began his career in 1994 in the Basque amateur club Lazkao where he stood until 1998 under contract. After a stint with SD Beasain where Sarriegi came on 28 missions and was one of the regulars, he moved in 1999 to Deportivo Alavés where, apart from one season at SD Eibar until 2006, they played and came to a total of 174 missions. While Sarriegi was used at the beginning only in the reserve team of Alavés, he made in January 2000 made ​​it into the first team and even made ​​his debut in the UEFA Cup. After the 1.89 m tall defender played in the season 2006/ 2007 for the traditional club Athletic Bilbao, Sarriegi changed in August 2007 for the first time abroad for the Greek club Panathinaikos Athens, where he was until 2012 under contract.
