Josy Stoffel

Joseph " Josy " Stoffel (* June 27, 1928 in Differdange, Luxembourg ) is a former Luxembourg device Turner. The 16x Luxembourg around champion participated in five Olympic Games (1948, 1952, 1956, 1960 and 1964 ), four world and six European Championships part, but was only able to win an international medal, bronze in jump at the European Championships in 1955. With five Olympic appearances Stoffel record holder for Luxembourg.

1957 and 1960 he was elected to the Luxembourg Sportsman of the Year, he was three more times second in the election. In 1957 he was also runner-up in the pole vault Luxembourg.

During and after his active time Turner Stoffel was coach, 1955-65 for the Belgian national team, 1965-74 as Luxembourg coach.

His wife Yvonne Stoffel -Wagner was also successful in the Artistic Gymnastics; they took part in 1960 in the Olympic Games.
