Journal for General Philosophy of Science

The Journal for General Philosophy of Science / Journal for general philosophy of science is a bilingual (English / German ) theory of science periodical.

The journal was founded by Alwin Diemer, Lutz Geldsetzer and Gert König and first appeared in 1970 under the name Journal of Basic Theory of Science / Journal for General Philosophy of Science at the Franz Steiner Verlag, Wiesbaden. From 1990, the journal of Kluwer Academic Publishers (now Springer ) in Dordrecht was continued under the present name. Since 2009, the journal by Helmut Pulte (Ruhr - University Bochum) and Gregor Schiemann is issued ( University of Wuppertal ).

The journal publishes articles in all scientific theoretical directions and all the philosophical issues that are the natural and social sciences of importance. In particular, it is a place for the publication of papers which are devoted to the understanding of science in general, the interaction and interdependence of natural and social sciences and the history of philosophy of science from antiquity to the 20th century.

The journal consists mostly of research articles. It also includes a discussion section on current topics, some with conference, country and theme reports and a review section.
