Journal of Consciousness Studies

The Journal of Consciousness Studies is an existing since 1994, interdisciplinary, academic journal in English. It is dedicated to the exploration of consciousness.

A particular focus of the journal is to encourage dialogue between the neuro- and cognitive sciences and philosophy and other non- science-related disciplines. To achieve this goal, the items are kept on a generally understandable for journals level. The magazine is based on the concept of peer review. To the editorial board includes well-known personalities such as Roger Penrose, John Searle and Daniel Dennett.

The magazine is published ten times a year and always has a thematic focus. Examples: "Art and the brain", "Can imaging discover consciousness ", " Models of the Self ," " hallucinations " or "Are there neural correlates of consciousness? ".

The magazine in 2012 had an impact factor of 0.477.
