Journal of Zoology

The Journal of Zoology is a monthly scientific publication of the international Zoology. Is published, the magazine of the Zoological Society of London. The magazine has been published since 1830 with the number 280 in 2010. Meanwhile, the editors are also an audio podcast out, and describes the main article each issue.

In 2009 was added to the list of 100 most influential journals from the fields of biology and medicine, and recognized as one of the 10 most influential journals, the Journal of Zoology by the BioMedical & Life Sciences Division of the Special Libraries Association.


The Journal of Zoology published professional articles in the field of zoology or using interdisciplinary approaches that include new research results. There are also articles on certain areas of zoology published, such as anatomy, ethology, ecology, physiology, genetics, developmental biology and phylogenetic.

The aim of the journal is to merge these disciplines in a transdisciplinary approach by its own account.
