Journalism school

A journalism school is a school for journalists. Recording will take place on school's own tests. Some institutions charge tuition fees, whereas others pay aid to its students.

The University studying communication science or journalism puts the emphasis on scientific study of the media and covers usually have little practical journalistic training. The training in journalism is not government regulated in Germany and therefore organizes among other things, universities, private schools and voluntary work. Training paths

A survey in 2005 showed that 13.7 percent of journalists had visited a career as a journalism school. 62.4 percent have alternatively or additionally ( multiple answers possible ) completed a traineeship, 13.5 percent have studied journalism, further 17.1 percent of journalism, communications or media studies. 13.8 percent have completed any other training or education. The proportion of those who have completed a traineeship / internship in the profession for entry, has increased dramatically between 1993 and 2005: from 31.8 to 68.7 percent.

Brief portraits of individual journalists schools

  • The three-year course fashion journalism / media communications at the AMD Akademie Mode & Design begins each winter semester in October.
