Journey into Self (1968 film)

Journey Into Self is an American documentary from the year 1969.

Action

The psychologist Dr. Carl Rogers and Dr. Richard Farson lead a therapy group with eight people. The group members come from different professions: theology student, teacher, school principal, housewife, businessmen and cashier.

In four of the members of the film focuses. The housewife can feel affection for her cat. The Eurasian woman wants no more than " doll", but be regarded as a woman. The businessman, who believes that he has no need to be afraid to be rejected. A Black, whose desire is to help others for fear of being rejected because of their skin color.

Through collaboration and discussions in the group, the people of their fears are aware.

Awards

In 1969 the film in the category Best Documentary was awarded the Oscar.

Originally the film Young Americans had won the Oscar. However, because of a technicality, the victory was canceled and Journey Into Self named the Oscar winner in 1969.
