Jóvenes Clásicos del Son

Jóvenes Clásicos del Son (Spanish: Young classics of Son) is founded in 1994, Cuban septet of young musicians. It consists of Ernesto Reyes Proenza ( bass), Pedro Lugo Martínez " El Nene " (vocals, percussion), Raudel Marzal Torres ( trumpet), Sergio Lago Ortega ( guitar, vocals), Juan Jimenez Hernandez ( percussion), Andres M. Gonzalo gavilán ( Bongos ) and César Lozada Labrada ( Tres - guitar). Musical Director is the bassist Ernesto Reyes Proenza.

The group combines the Son with influences from other Latin - American and African styles. They have collaborated among others with Cándido Fabré, Vocal Sampling, Wynton Marsalis and Compay Segundo.

For her debut album Tambor en el Alma, they won the highest award of EGREM for a first film.
