Józef Pińkowski

Józef Pinkowski ( born April 17, 1929 in Siedlce, † November 8, 2000 in Warsaw) was a Polish politician and Prime Minister ( 1980/1981 ).

Economist by profession he was a member of the Central Committee of the PZPR since 1971. From 1971 to 1974 he was First Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission at the Council of Ministers. From September 1980 to February 1981 he was in the early days of the Solidarity movement largely unsuccessful Prime Minister of Poland under party leader Stanislaw Kania.
