Jozef Regec

Jozef Regec ( born March 29, 1965 in Kežmarok, Východoslovenský kraj ) is a former Czechoslovak cyclist and coach and Czech politicians. He belongs since 2010 to the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic.

Biography

He studied at the Charles University in Prague.

He was also a participant in the Peace Race, 1986, about 130 km from the reactor exploded in Chernobyl ( 26 April 1986) was on May 6; so 10 days later. He won this first stage. Because years later he underwent treatment for kidney cancer, a connection with the Chernobyl disaster is seen as possible.

In 1988 he took part in the Olympic Games in Seoul for the Czech Republic.

Jozef Regec was a professional cycling team in the 1996 TICO [note 1] from the Czech Republic and in 1997 the Austrian team Elk Haus. At the FTVS UK Praha, he earned a coaching license. He was appointed to a Czech national coach in 1999. He held this position until 2004, after which he worked in Austria as a cycling coach and then was again coach in the Czech Republic.

He is vice president of the Czech Cycling Federation and has a bicycle service in Cerna Hora.

Jozef Regec made ​​political career as a member of the CSSD and was elected in 2010 as MP for the constituency Blansko in the Czech Senate. He also is a member of the town council of Cerna Hora.

He has four children and lives in his constituency Blansko.
