József Zakariás

József Zakariás [ jo ː ʒɛf zɒkɒria ː ʃ ] ( born March 25, 1924 in Budapest, † November 22, 1971 ) was a Hungarian football player.

Zakariás was a member of the " Golden Team " (Hungarian Aranycsapat ), the Hungarian national team, also known as the Magical Magyars, who was defeated at the Football World Cup 1954 in Bern at the Miracle of Bern the German selection with 2:3.

The midfielder Zakariás who stood in 1954 in Budapest at MTK Hungaria FC under contract, played in four matches of the Football World Cup 1954. Overall, he was able to record 1947-1954 35 missions in the national jersey. He was mostly as a left defensive external rotor (equivalent to today's defensive midfielder ) next playmaker Nandor Hidegkuti and inserted behind the left offensive forces Puskas, Budai and Mihály Tóth.

In 1952 he won the Hungarian team the gold medal at the Olympic Games in Helsinki. After his playing days, he worked as a trainer for Szigetszentmiklósi SE (1959-1960), the national team of Guinea (1961-1968) and Medosz Erdért SE ( 1968-1971 ).
