Jørgen Emborg

Jørgen Emborg ( born March 29, 1953 in Frederiksberg Castle ) is a Danish jazz pianist, keyboardist and composer who was influenced by Bill Evans, Herbie Hancock and Keith Jarrett and has the music in his compositions awarded a lyrical, specifically Nordic mood.

Emborg worked in 1991 with Thomas Hass ( Notes in Time ); 1994 Tomas Franck (Crystal Ball). In 1994 his first album under his own name Over the Rainbow on the Storyville label, mkt saxophonist Fredrik Lundin, bassist Steve Swallow and drummer Alex Riel. From 1995 he played in the Tolvan Big Band ( The Trouble and Plays the Music of Helge Albin ), 1996 by Carsten quintet.

He teaches theory at Rytmisk of Music in Copenhagen.

Jørgen Emborg is the great-grandson of the composer Jens Laurson Emborg.
