Jørgen Peter Müller

Jørgen Peter Müller ( October 7, 1866 *, † November 17, 1938 ) was a Danish sports and gymnastics teacher. In Germany, his name was usually abbreviated Germanized with JP Müller or led by Johann Müller or Peder Peder Johann Mueller.

From 1904 on, he won 134 titles in almost every sport. In the same year he wrote the book My System, the first in a series of gymnastics textbooks, which were fast becoming bestsellers. My system has been translated into 24 languages ​​and only the German translation reached until 1925 a circulation of 400,000 copies. He was a staunch opponent of his time also emerging bodybuilding, as it was mainly promoted by Eugen Sandow. Müller's system aimed contrast, less on muscle strength and muscle formation, but rather to a general fitness and agility. It was - intended for all ages - in each case adapted form. All organs of the body, including the skin, should be strengthened and perfused through the exercises, for which he provided for each different requirement levels. Müller was proud that doctors recommended his " system " and the Italian translation has been prepared by medical professionals.
