JScript

JScript is Microsoft 's own proprietary development of a scripting language for Web browsers and part of the ECMAScript programming language. Originally based on JavaScript and JScript is therefore compatible in much of this, but was expanded to include additional Microsoft-specific features.

As the only web browser Microsoft Internet Explorer fully supported JScript, but now implemented other browsers such as Mozilla or Opera also large parts of the extensions.

JScript is implemented as a so-called Windows Script Engine. This means that they are with any program that supports Windows Script, used, such as Internet Explorer, Active Server Pages and Windows Script Host. This also means that any program that supports Windows Script can use multiple languages: JScript, VBScript, Perl and others.

A built on top of the. NET Framework development is JScript. NET.

JScript files (. Extension * js ) can be executed by the Windows Based Script Host, either - when the extension has been linked - by a double of the script file, or by calling wscript.exe or cscript.exe in the "Run" window of the Start menu. In this case, additional parameters can be passed in addition to the script file.
