Juan Antonio San Epifanio

Juan Antonio San Epifanio Ruiz, Epi, ( born June 12, 1959 in Zaragoza ) is a famous Spanish basketball player.

He was one of the most important players in Europe, with 239 games for the Spanish national team in the 1980s. With FC Barcelona, he won seven championships and took 11 Cup victories.

He participated with the Spanish national basketball team at the 1980 Summer Olympics, 1984, 1988 and 1992 and won the 1984 silver medal.

At the opening ceremony of the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, ​​he was the penultimate runner carrying the Olympic torch.

Juan Antonio San Epifanio was honored in May 2008 as one of the fifty major personalities of the sport of basketball in Europe. The ceremony was performed by the Euro League Basketball at an official ceremony at the Palacio de Deportes de la Comunidad de Madrid, Madrid (Spain).
