Juan Cole

John Ricardo I. " Juan " Cole ( * October 1952 ) is an American intellectual, and historian of the modern Middle East and South Asia. He is a professor of history at the University of Michigan. As a commentator on Middle Eastern affairs, he appeared in the print media and on television and spoke before the Senate of the United States. Cole has published several books on the Middle East and is a translator for Arabic and Persian. Since 2002, he writes the blog Informed Comment.
