Juan Curuchet

Juan Esteban Curuchet ( born February 4, 1965 in Mar del Plata) is an Argentine track and road racing cyclist.

Career

Juan Esteban Curuchet won in 1992 at the railway - Cycling World Championships in Valencia the bronze medal in the points race. In Madison, he won among other things with his brother Gabriel Curuchet at 1995 World Championships silver and 1997, 2000, and in 2001 he won bronze. He also won in 2001 the silver medal in the points race. In the next World Championships Curuchet won bronze respectively in Madison and in the points race and in 2003 he was again third in Madison. In 2004 he was in Melbourne together with Walter Pérez for the first time world champion in Madison. In the points race he won bronze in the same year. The UCI Track Cycling World Championships in 2006 in Bordeaux itself Curuchet once again secured bronze in Madison. At the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008, he and Pérez Olympic champion in Madison.

On the road Curuchet won the 1994 overall in the Vuelta al Valle. In 1997, he won the overall title of the Clasica del Oeste- Doble Bragado for themselves. Here he was again in 1998 and in 2000 successfully. In 1998 he was Argentine champion in the time trial. This title he won again in Santiago del Estero 2002. In 2003 he won a stage at the Clasica del Oeste- Doble Bragado and so could the Appreciation decide for themselves. In the 2008 season he was successful on a section of the Criterium Internacional in Mar del Plata.

In June 2009, founded Juan Esteban Curuchet the "Fundación Juan Curuchet " for the promotion of amateur sport.
