Juan del Castillo

Juan del Castillo (* 1584 in Seville, † 1640 in Cadiz ) was a Spanish painter of the Baroque.

He was the youngest brother Agustín del Castillo. As he also learned Juan del Castillo also painting with Luis Fernández and painted several frescoes and oil paintings, mostly for church buildings in and around Seville, but also in Granada and Cádiz. Among his pupils were his brother Alonso Cano and Bartolomé Esteban Murillo, Pedro de Moya, Andro de Medina, Juan de Valdés Leal and his nephew Antonio. He was based in his painting in the Venetian style.
