Juan Evaristo

Juan Evaristo ( born June 20, 1902 in Buenos Aires, † May 8, 1978 ) was an Argentine football player.

Association

The 1.71 meter tall midfielder Juan Evaristo, brother of footballer Mario Evaristo, played from 1924 to 1926, first at Sportivo Barracas. In the years 1927 to 1930 he was a member of the squad Sportivo Palermo. From 1931, he joined Boca Juniors. He made his debut at the club from Buenos Aires on August 30, 1931 in a 3-1 away win against Atlanta and completed a total of 24 league games and four friendly games for the club with which in 1931 he won the first national champion in the Argentine professional football. From there he moved in 1933 to the Argentinos Juniors, came the following year in two games of La Liga for CA Independiente used and stood again in 1936 ranks of Argentinos Juniors.

National

Evaristo was also a member of the national team of his native country, and took her part in both the 1928 Olympics, as well as at the first World Cup in 1930. In the Olympic final was defeated Argentina 2-1 against neighbors Uruguay, which for him and his teammates had to win the silver medal result. He also won the South American Championship with Argentina ( Copa America ) in 1927 and 1929. Overall, he completed 1923-1930 25 matches in which he scored a goal.
