Juan Ignacio Arrieta Ochoa de Chinchetru ( born April 10, 1951 in Vitoria, Spain ) is a Curia Bishop of the Roman Catholic Church.

Life

Juan Ignacio Arrieta Ochoa de Chinchetru received on 23 August 1977, the ordination of the Opus Dei. He received his doctorate in canon law and civil law and taught at the University of Navarra, the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross and at the Istituto di Diritto Canonico San Pio X in Venice. He is a founding editor of the journal " Ius Ecclesiae ".

Pope Benedict XVI. appointed him on 15 February 2007 the secretary of the Pontifical Council for Legislative Texts. On April 12, 2008 Pope Benedict XVI appointed him. Titular Bishop of Civitate. The Episcopal Ordination 1 May 2008 He received his Cardinal Secretary of State Tarcisio Cardinal Bertone SDB; Co-consecrators were Cardinal Agostino Vallini and Curia Archbishop Francesco Coccopalmerio. On June 26, 2013 Pope Francis appointed him coordinator of the commission of inquiry into the Istituto per le Opere di Religione ( IOR )
