Juan José Borrelli

Juan José Borrelli ( born November 8, 1970 in Buenos Aires, Argentina ) is a former Argentine football player and coach.

Juan José Borrelli, who played in central midfield, his professional career began in the youth divisions of Argentine club River Plate tradition, in which he played until 1990. In the 1990/1991 season Borrelli got a professional contract and joined the squad of men's team, in which he could win the Apertura championship with River Plate. In summer 1991 Borrelli moved to Greece to Panathinaikos, where he next two championships (1995, 1996) and three cup victories (1993, 1994, 1995 ) also twice won the Greek Super Cup (1993, 1994). In this Borrelli for sporty successful period of his career he managed from 1996 to the semifinals of the UEFA Champions League before eventually with Panathinaikos, despite a 1-0 away victory at Ajax Amsterdam, was eliminated. With four Champions League goals scored Borrelli was doing the best actors of his team and coach Daniel Passarella as prompted to call him in the Argentine national football team, he came to a total of seven missions. In the following years of his career Borrelli changed hands several times and was able to win his team River Plate in 1997 with a second time the Apertura championship. In January 2002 he returned once to Greece and signed a six-month contract at the former first division Akratitos Ano Liosia, where he ended his active career.

After his playing career Borrelli took over as coach at River Plate youth team.
