Juan María Solare ( born August 11, 1966 in Buenos Aires ) is an Argentine pianist and composer.

Biography

Training

Solar studied piano with Maria Teresa Criscuolo, composition with Fermina Casanova and Juan Carlos Zorzi and conducting with Mario at the Conservatorio Nacional de Música Benzecry Carlos López Buchardo The He graduated with the diploma, graduate recital. This was followed by postgraduate studies from 1993 to 1996 at the Cologne Musikhochschule with Johannes Fritsch, Clarence Barlow and Mauricio Kagel under a grant from the German Academic Exchange Service.

Between October 1997 and February 1999, he studied at the Stuttgart Musikhochschule with Helmut Lachenmann. Subsequently, he studied until 2001, electronic music with Hans Ulrich Humpert ( Musikhochschule Köln ) with artistic maturity exam. In 2007, ERDAS concert exam in electronic composition at the Musikhochschule in Cologne. He regularly attended courses with Karlheinz Stockhausen in Kürten.

In April 2005, he put his Licenciatura in Instituto Universitario del Arte ( IUNA ) from when the composer Roque de Pedro, Buenos Aires.

Currently ( 2009) he is working on his doctorate in music education at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Currently (2009 ) lives in Solar Germany, mainly in Cologne and Bremen. Solar is an avid chess player.

Teaching

From 1986 to 1993 Solar held the chair of harmony, morphology and chamber music at the Conservatory of Tandil in Argentina. Since January 2002 he has taught piano at the Academy of Arts Bremen and since September 2002 he has led the Orquesta no Típica, a chamber music group dedicated to the tango music at the University of Bremen. Since October 2007 he founded the ensemble Kagel for new music theater at the University of Bremen. Between 2007 and 2008 he was Visiting Professor of Music Education at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Since November 2009, taught at the University of the Arts Solar Bremen composition and arrangement for teaching school practice.

Solar gives courses and lectures on contemporary music, for example in the SEAD Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance, the Institute for New Music and Music Education in Darmstadt, at the Ateneo in Madrid or in the Université permanent Nantes, Texas A & M University (College Station, Texas ).

Solar was active in journalism, and both magazines such as Doce Notas and ABC in Madrid, Pauta and L' Orfeo in Mexico and La Sibila in Seville, Tempo in London, music texts and art music in Cologne, as well as for broadcasting, especially for SWR five years for the German wave.

Prizes and awards

Solar was from August 1993 to December 1994 DAAD scholarship. From July 1998 to June 1999 he was a fellow of the Heinrich Strobel Foundation in Baden -Baden. From June 2001 to May 2002 he had a grant from the Artist Worpswede. Solar has received prizes and awards in Argentina ( Promociones Musicales 1990, Fondo Nacional de las Artes in 1996, Tribuna Argentina de Compositores 1999, Tribuna Argentina de Música Electroacustica 2002 Federación Argentina de Música Electroacustica 2005), United Kingdom ( British & International Bass Forum 1999 Rare Scale / Royal College of Music in 2004), Austria ( Salzburg aspects Yage and 2000), Spain (Radio Clasica - CDMC 2004) and Germany ( Viola Foundation Walter Witte 2001, Bremer Composers competition in 2004 ).

As a pianist Solar received awards in the following competitions:

  • Concurso para Jóvenes Pianistas " Cincuentenario de la Fundación Educacional Jrimián " of the Armenian Cultural Association in Lanús ( Buenos Aires ) in November 1980.
  • As a member of the improvisational ensembles Ball, 2nd prize at the 6th International Competition for Young Culture 2000 in the hall Heinersdorff Piano House ( Steinway-Haus ) Dusseldorf, within the framework of the festival " Düsseldorf's Old Town Autumn" (SEP 2000).

Oeuvre

Solar has some 300 works composed, it reached more than half the world premiere. In addition to stage and orchestral works, chamber music, he also wrote for solo instruments and electroacoustic music. His compositions are regularly broadcast on the radio, especially from the transmitters Radio Nacional de España, German wave, Radio Bremen, Radio factory Salzburg, Austria ORF Art Radio, Radio Universitaria Sao Paulo, Rundfunk Berlin -Brandenburg, West German Broadcasting, Bayerischer Rundfunk. From Solar stems the term " Sonoclip " as a short distance (usually less than 60 seconds) for tape and especially the term " Deconstructed Tango".

Solar also wrote music for short films and animations for internet, especially for movies of the Catalan artist Nuria Juncosa.

His works have been published in Germany by Verlag Dohr, Ricordi and Peer Music.

Pianist

As a pianist, his repertoire has four priorities: Classical music of the turn of the century ( Liszt, Scriabin ), contemporary music ( John Cage, Arnold Schoenberg, Morton Feldman ), Argentine composer (including Tango) and their own creations - as a soloist in various chamber music ensembles, in particular
