Juan Pablo Ángel

Juan Pablo Ángel Arango ( born October 21, 1975 in Medellín ) is a Colombian national football team.

Career

Atlético Nacional and River Plate

Angel began his careers as a footballer with Atlético Nacional in his native city of Medellín. He gained national prominence in 1994 when he scored the winning goal against local rivals Independiente Medellín, which among other things resulted that Nacional was able to win the championship. Overall, the striker was 174mal for Atlético Nacional on the court, scoring 45 goals. With the Colombians he was also second in the Copa Libertadores in 1995 and won the Copa Interamericana in 1997.

Nevertheless, Ángel had a big moment on 26 September 2009, he made ​​his 46th goal for the team in a game against Chivas USA. He broke the record by Clint Mathis, who scored a total of 45 goals for the MetroStars and Red Bulls. This season he had 12 goals with the best scorer of the team.

The 2010 season was for Juan Pablo Ángel much better. In the first half of the season he came up with 11 goals in 19 games. In the second half, he scored only two more goals. With the team he made the victory in the Eastern Conference.

On 11 November 2010 it was announced that Angel will no longer play for the New York Red Bulls.

Los Angeles Galaxy

Return to Colombia

National

From 1996 to 2006 he was part of the Colombian national football team. During this time he participated with the team in the qualification for the FIFA World Cups in 2002 and 2006.
