Juan Smith

Juanne Hugo " Juan " Smith (born 30 July 1981 in Bloemfontein ) is a South African rugby union player who as winger and number eight for the South African national team in the Currie Cup for the Free State Cheetahs and the Super 14 for the Central Cheetahs plays. It was founded in 2007 with the " Springboks " world champion.

Career

Smith made in 2002 first attracted attention when he took part in the Under-21s in South Africa at the World Cup this age group. In the same year also his playing career began in the Currie Cup. 2003 was the first time for Cats in the Super 12. With the establishment of its own franchises in the Free State Province, the Central Cheetahs, he moved to his current team.

Smith gave in 2003 at the Tri Nations debut for the Men's National Team in South Africa. He won the Three Nations Tournament in 2004 and the title at the World Championships in 2007. In 2008 he succeeded with the " Springboks " to win all games against British teams. In 2009 he was part of the squad in South Africa for the British and Irish Lions tour. The Springboks won the series 2-1 and also secured the third title in the Tri Nations in the same year.
