Juan Tomás de Boxadors

Juan Tomás de Boxadors y Sureda de San Martín ( born April 3, 1703 Barcelona, Spain, † December 16, 1780 in Rome ) was a Cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church.

Life

The Austrian with the ruling house related de Boxadors first served in the Austrian army and was in Barcelona since 1729 the Academy of Literature.

After he had in 1734 entered the Dominican Order, he was Provincial in 1746 and served from 1756 to 1777 as Minister General of his Order in Rome. Pope Pius VI. raised the Spaniards on 13 November 1775 Cardinal and appointed him on 18 December 1775, Cardinal Priest of the titular church of S. Sisto.
