Jübek

Juebek (Danish: Jydbæk ) is a municipality on the Schleswig 's Geest in the district of Schleswig -Flensburg, in Schleswig- Holstein. Belongs to this community also Friedrichsau.

History

After the fishing had emigrated to England, to Jutland settlers have settled in the municipality. 1391, the village was first mentioned as Judbu. The place is named after the creek Juebek (literally: Bach of the Jutes ) named in the municipality.

Juebek was represented at Altweg, one of the five Angelbowege, welcomed their continuation in North Frisia Freese routes and east-west connection to the landscape fishing.

Friedrichsau built in the 18th century from the reclamation of bog and heath areas by settlers from southern Germany. The district is named after King Frederick V.

Incorporations

On 1 January 1978, the neighboring community Friedrichsau was incorporated.

Policy

Of the 17 seats in the municipal council has the voter community FWGJ since the local elections 2008 ten seats, the CDU and the SPD four three seats.

In the upper part, is taking on the place name reference, the watercourse of the creek shown. The Lokomotivrad indicates the port of the town took place in 1869 on the railway network. The crest is decorated in blue and yellow in the Schleswig colors.

Economy and Transport

Although the site was originally dominated by agriculture, have settled since the construction of the railway Neumünster -Flensburg ( Denmark ) and the ausfädelnden on Jübeker breakpoint line to Husum trade and business establishments in the municipality. Therefore Juebek takes over today on local features

Juebek - rock festival

The former Juebek Festival has been held every summer since 1985 and was called from 1987 Juebek open air, to the late 1980s and early 1990s, partly streamed over 20,000 visitors. 1998, there was no more place among others for financial reasons. In this open- air festival were many well-known groups and singers, such as Gianna Nannini, Bryan Adams ( 1991), Die Toten Hosen ( people, animals, sensations Tour 1992) Runrig (1995) and the Böhse Onkelz (1997). On 28 August 2010, a Revival Party was held with Illegal 2001 and the Pinboys as top acts. A continuation of the Juebek open airs as day event takes place since 2011, more events are planned. 2013 was the first time since 1996, the tents allowed on a small area (limited to about 400 people) back to the top acts included Jennifer Rostock and Selig.

In the same area, the dirt track stadium on the road to Silberstedt, the Motorsport Club (MSC ) Juebek has for years hosted motorcycle dirt track races that in the 1980s and 1990s and the frequent German dirt track champion Egon Müller took part. The MSC had to stop the race due to financial reasons.
