The interchange allows the traffic into four levels, the entry and exit in all directions as the Hollywood Split or East Los Angeles Interchange and also offers high- occupancy vehicle lanes, tracks of the Green Line of the Metro Los Angeles along with a station, busways or Harbor Transitway. Opened along with Interstate 105 in 1993, the cross is named after Harry Pregerson, a longtime federal judge who presided over a court that had to decide on the construction of freeways.
