Geography

The city is located in the historically significant Judith Gap, a small gap between the mountain ranges of the Big Snowy Mountains and Little Belt Mountains, separate the central and southern Montana. This place has been used for centuries by both Indians and settlers.

Economy and infrastructure

Because of the terrain and the prevailing wind Judith Gap is home to one of the most ambitious wind power projects in the U.S., the Judith Gap Wind Farm. The 90 wind turbines were built in 2005 and have a height of almost 80 meters. Together, the turbines of the wind farm have a rated capacity of 135 megawatts.
