Judith Guest

Judith Ann Guest ( born March 29, 1936 in Detroit, Michigan) is an American writer.

Life

Judith Ann Guesthouse is the great-niece of the U.S. American poet Edgar Guest. She attended Mumford High School in Detroit and graduated in 1954 at the Dondero High School in Royal Oak, Michigan. She studied psychology and English at the University of Michigan. She then worked for several years as a teacher in a public school before they completely devoted himself to writing. With Ordinary People was published in 1976 her first novel, which was translated in 1977, entitled Ordinary People. The filmed by Robert Redford family drama was released in 1980. Ordinary People won at the Academy Awards in 1981 as Best Film, Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay and with the Timothy Hutton as Best Supporting Actor four Oscars.
