Judith Wilcox, Baroness Wilcox

Judith Ann Wilcox, Baroness Wilcox ( born December 31, 1939) is a British politician ( Conservative Party ).

Family and Education

Wilcox was the daughter of John Freeman and his wife Elsie. She received her training at St. Dunstan 's Abbey School in Plymouth, the St Mary 's Convent in Wantage and at the University of Plymouth. She was married from 1961 to 1986 in first marriage to Keith Davenport. Of the marriage was in 1963 a son out. Her second husband, Malcolm George Wilcox, she married in 1986. However, he died in the same year.

Career

After completing their training Wilcox first headed a family in Devon. Between 1979 and 1994 she took a senior positions in English and French companies in the food industry. From 1990 to 1996 she was chairman of the National Consumer Council. In addition, she worked in the campaign launched by John Major 's Citizen Charter with improving public services. Since 1996 she is member of the House of Lords. She was born on 16 January 1996 Life Peeress as Baroness Wilcox, of Plymouth in the County of Devon appointed. From 2002 to 2005 she was a whip of the opposition. As a spokeswoman for the opposition it was from 2003 to 2005 for the household, responsible from 2005 to 2006 for the Cabinet Office from 2006 to 2008 for trading and Industrie/Geschäfts-, enterprise and regulatory reform. Since 2008 she is the opposition spokesperson on energy and climate change.

2004, she is deputy chairman of the fishing group and since January 19, 2009 Shadow Minister for Energy and Climate Change.
