Judy Devlin

Judith M. " Judy " Devlin ( born October 22, 1935 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, married Judy Hashman ) is a former American badminton player who competed for England later.

Career

Devlin began playing at the age of seven years in the vicinity of Baltimore under the wing of her Irish father Frank Devlin badminton. Devlin became later with 86 national and international titles to one of the most successful badminton players ever. She won 31 titles in the U.S., 8 in Germany, seven in Canada, four in the Netherlands, four in Sweden, three in Ireland, 3 in Jamaica, two in Scotland and two national titles in England. Three times she won with the U.S. team in the Uber Cup (1957, 1960, 1963). In 1972, she was successful twice at the European Championships.

Judy Devlin is the third most successful player at the All England Badminton Championships, where they could win 17 titles.

It was in 1997, taken together with her father, in the Badminton Hall of Fame. She is also in the U.S. Badminton Hall of Fame and the International Women's Sports Hall of Fame.
