Judy Millar

Judy Millar ( born 1957 ) is a contemporary New Zealand painter who, Germany, lives in Auckland, New Zealand, and Berlin.

Life

Judy Millar earned a 1980 Bachelor of Fine Arts ( BFA) and 1983 a Master of Fine Arts (MFA ) at the Elam School of Fine Arts at the University of Auckland, New Zealand. She teaches at the Elam School of Fine Arts at the University of Auckland.

Work

Judy Millar's work is characterized for several years by the intense engagement with the legacy of informal painting and Abstract Expressionism. Your partly large-scale works are created in a permanent tension between gestural acting job and the removal, smudging and removal of color.
