Jugulator

Jugulator is the 13th studio album by British heavy metal band Judas Priest. It was released in Japan on 16 October 1997, in the rest of the world on 28 October 1997. It was the first of the two Judas Priest studio albums with vocalist Tim Owens.

Background

With the album, the band adopted the earlier style, and turned to influences from thrash metal, neo- thrash through to death metal. The guitars were in part to C # ( three semitones lower) or even tuned down dropped- C tuning. Also the lyrics turned out harder. Thus acted " Cathedral Spires " of a mechanized monster. For the song Burn in Hell, a music video was shot, but more than two minutes of the piece were cut away in the final section. Bullet Train in 1998 was nominated for the Grammy Award for Performance Best Metal, but lost to Better Than You Metallica.

Criticism

The expectations for the album were very high. The reactions were mixed from up critical. Jeremy Ulrey described the album as a warm infusion of Painkiller. Also the lyrics have been called " childish" criticized ..
