Juilliard String Quartet

The Juilliard String Quartet is one since 1947, the year of his first appearance, the leading string ensembles in the world. From the original cast from 1947 (official first appearance, foundation already 1945/1946 by William Schuman ) and Robert Mann is no longer a member since the departure of man in 1997, however, exist. The previously developed repertoire includes approximately 500 works, including more than 60 world premieres by American composers.

With over 100 publications, the Juilliard String Quartet is one of the most recorded string ensembles in the world and has so far won four Grammys, including one for the recording of the six string quartets of Béla Bartók, which were performed and recorded by the Juilliard String Quartet for the first time in the USA. 2011, the Quartet with the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award was honored for his life's work.
