Jukka Poika

Jukka Poika (* 1980 in Haukipudas; actually Jukka Rousu ) is a Finnish reggae singer.

Biography

Until 2002 was Poika singer of Soul Captain Band, with, he was also in the Finnish charts in 2001. Then he decided to pursue other projects. He published under names such as Kapteeni Ä -ni Kompostikopla and Jenkkarekka and worked there together, among other things with the old band mate Antti Hakala, Joakim Bachmann, Seppo Salmi and Tommi Tikkanen.

The first proper solo album by Jukka Poika appeared in 2007. Äänipää With he brought it up in the top 10 of the Finnish charts. The album Kylmästä lämpimään took him three years later already up to # 2 on the charts and with Mielihyvää he had his first hit single. But the really big success came in 2011 with the song Silkkii. With six weeks at number 1, it was one of the most successful plays of the year in Finland. When Emma Awards, the most important Finnish music award, it was named song of the year 2011, Poika got another trophy as the best live performers.

His next album Yhdestä puusta appeared in March 2012 and debuted at # 1 on the album charts.
