Jukka Tammi

Jukka Tapani Viljo Tammi ( born April 10, 1962 in Tampere ) is a retired Finnish professional ice hockey goaltender, who was from 1984 to 1999 at Ilves Tampere, Turku and TuTo the Frankfurt Lions under contract.

Career

Jukka Tammi has already played in his junior time for Ilves Tampere, with whom he played in 1980 in the highest Finnish junior league. In the same year, the goalkeeper was first appointed to the cadre of professional team in the SM- liiga with which he stood in the following 15 seasons on the ice. In 1985, the Left Catcher with Ilves Tampere was Finnish Champion, 1990, he won the vice-championship in 1989 and the bronze medal of the SM - liiga with the team. For the 1995/96 season, the goalkeeper moved to the league rivals TuTo Hockey. After the season the Frankfurt Lions, he joined in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga.

In Frankfurt Tammi climbed to the first year to the goalkeeper. In 1999 he reached the Hessians for the first time play-offs, where the team was able to reach the semi-finals. In addition, the Finn took this season with the Lions at the European Hockey League. Then he ended his active career at the age of 37 years.

Internationally

Jukka Tammi won with the Finnish national team at the Olympic Winter Games 1988, the silver medal and the bronze medal in 1994 and 1998.
