Jules Adenis
Jules Adenis, actually Jules de Adenis Colombeau, ( born June 28, 1823 in Paris, † 1900 ) was a French journalist, writer and librettist.
Life
Adenis successfully completed the Collège royal de Bourbon and got on it and a job at the Compagnie de Saint- Gobain. Already at that time he was contributor to various newspapers and magazines. In addition, he also tried his hand as a librettist and was here with " The Maid of Perth " (La fille de Perth jolie ) recorded one of his greatest successes.
Through his work in the theater Adenis soon made acquaintance with the Société des auteurs et Compositeurs (SACD ) an early form of a collecting society, whose secretary he was late for a few years.
His two sons, Eugene (1854-1923) and Édouard (1867-1952), were also writers and achieved success ala librettist.
