Jules-Léon Dutreuil de Rhins
Jules Léon Dutreuil de Rhins ( born January 2, 1846 in Saint- Étienne, Loire Dept, . † June 5, 1894 in Tibet) was a French geographer and researcher.
Life
Jules Rhins midshipman was an expedition to Mexico and Ensign during the Franco-German War. From 1871 to 1876 was master of a foreign ship and commanded in 1876 and 1888, the Scorpion King of Annam Navy. In 1882 he worked as a correspondent for the Egyptian newspaper Le Temps and 1891-1894 he erkundschaftete the Chinese Turkestan (East Turkestan ) and the hard to reach areas north and west of Tibet. In 1894 he was murdered in a small town in eastern Tibet.
