Music

The songs of the band are written almost exclusively by the singer and two guitarists. It can, however, usually not conducted by a collaborative works, but each of the three authors wrote his songs for him, which he then presents in nearly finished state of the band.

July do not see themselves as a rock band, but describe their music style as an alternative pop. You set high standards for their texts and therefore wanted from the beginning rather than an adult to address a young audience.

The first three singles ( Perfect Wave, Horny and rainy and the sea ) rose to the top of the German airplay charts and held each for months in the top 10 too This life could repeat this success and topped many as five consecutive weeks at number one. The two follow-up singles We Both Torn and made it well into the top 5

Relative to other bands

At the time of the first successes of July, a number of other German-speaking bands still had their breakthrough. Immediately before July had, among other things We are heroes (first published August 2003), and Silver Moon (first published in March 2004), their first successes. The fact that all these bands perform with a singer and German texts, made from the beginning of conversation.

Early in her career, the band was faced with such comparisons, which, however, even then strictly refused. In particular, silver moon, whose career began as an English school band as in July, are often set by the media in competition, but this is also seen by both bands as groundless.
