Julia Eichhorn

Julia Eichhorn ( born July 11, 1983 in Sonneberg ) is a former German Skeleton pilot.

Julia Eichhorn began her athletic career as her brother Jan Eichhorn at luge. The sports soldier of the Bundeswehr from BSR Rennsteig Oberhof in 1999 moved to the Skeleton. In 2003, she first participated at the Junior World Championships and became World Champion. They even left the reigning Olympic champion Tristan Gale behind. In 2004 she was Fifth, Sixth 2005 and 2006 Vice World Champion. In 2005 she was also German junior champion. The following year she was fifth at the German championships of seniors.

2003 and 2004 won the overall Eichhorn European Cup. Multiple they has since been used in the World Cup. Your best rankings as they reached fourth in 2004 and fifth in 2006, each in Altenberg. The season 2005/ 06 she decided as 10th in the overall World Cup. At European Championships Eichhorn took part in 2006 and finished fifth. Your first medal at an international senior race was won by Eichhorn in February 2007 at the European Championships in Koenigssee. In the following season Eichhorn started mostly in the newly created Skeleton Intercontinental. Of the six races she won one in Winterberg, was once second and third three times and finished second in the overall standings ranked second behind Lindsay Alcock. She was also in Calgary once in a Second Skeleton America's Cup races. Due to the failure to achieve targets that were set by the Association, Eichhorn was ahead of the 2008 /09 season sorted out of the national squad and then ended her career. She is romantically involved with Frank Rommel.
