Juliaca

Juliaca is a city in the south of the South American Andean Peru State with 218 485 inhabitants ( 2005 census ) and an area of 533.47 km ². At the same time it is the largest city and also the capital of San Román province. The city lies at an altitude of 3,825 m on the Altiplano, an endorheic plateau.
Economy
The town is nationally known for its textile products, and therefore is also called Ciudad Calcetera ( "City of knitters "). Tourists come mainly because of cheap textile products ( sweaters, hats, bags).
