Julian Myrick

Julian Southall Myrick ( called Uncle Mike, born March 1, 1880 in Murfreesboro, North Carolina, † January 4, 1969 in New York ) was an American tennis activist.

Career

From 1920 to 1922 he was president of the United States Tennis Association ( USTA ). In his professional life, Myrick was a successful insurance business and long-time business partner and friend of the composer Charles Ives.

Myrick was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 1963.
