Juliana Berners

Juliana Berners (* 1400, † after 1460 ) was an English writer.

She loved hunting, especially hawking, fishing and heraldry, and wrote on these subjects partly in verse which is now in its first edition extremely rare work, The bokys of Hawkyng and Huntyng and therefore of Cootarmuris (St. Albans in 1486, gothic with woodcuts ), which is known only in two complete specimens, one of the rubies for the British bibliophile.

In the later editions of the written order 1441 book on heraldry has been added. The latest edition (London 1811) is a rarity, as only 150 copies were printed.
