Julie Baumann

Julie Baumann, née Rocheleau ( born June 17, 1964 in Saint- Jérôme ) is a former Swiss track and field athlete of Canadian origin. She was dedicated to the 100 - meter hurdles.

Life

Julie Rocheleau won as their first successes for her home country of Canada. She was fourth at the Commonwealth Games in 1986 and sixth at the Olympic Games in 1988. 1989, she tested positive for Stanozolol and was given a two-year doping suspension. During this time she married the Swiss fencer Beat Baumann, took part in the last name and started from then on to Switzerland.

After her lock she finished fifth at the World Championships in 1991 and at the European Indoor Championships in 1992. Their greatest success was winning the gold medal at the World Indoor Championships in Toronto in 1993. However, at the World Championships in Stuttgart, she dropped out in the semifinals. In 1994, she reached at the European Championships and sixth at the 1995 World Championships in fifth place. At the Olympic Games in 1996 and the 1997 World Championships she did not make it past the semi-finals at the European Championships 1998, she was seventh.

Baumann is 1,64 m tall, her competition weight was 52 kg.
