Julie Manet ( later Julie Rouart ) ( born November 14, 1878 in Paris, † July 14, 1966 ibid ) was a French painter, art collector and patron. Life

Julie Manet was the only child of Berthe and Eugène Manet. Her mother had been before her wedding success as a painter and kept her birth name Berthe Morisot as a stage name. Julie Manet's father did not exercise a profession and lived on the family fortune. His brother was the painter Édouard Manet, who was a friend of Berthe Morisot in 1868.

Her parents lived in a large house in the Rue de Ville Just ( today Rue Paul Valéry ), near the Place de l' Étoile and the castle Mesnil -Saint -Laurent in Juziers. With her husband, she painted frescoes in Mesnil -Saint -Laurent castle. Later Julie Rouart designed porcelain plate, for which they chose butterflies and other insects as motifs.
