Juliette and the Licks

Juliette and the Licks was an American rock band from Los Angeles.

History

The band was founded in early 2003 by actress Juliette Lewis. With the guitarist Todd Morse and Kemble Walters, bassist Paul Ill and drummer Pat the stool ( formerly of Hole) Juliette and the Licks was created. At the beginning they appeared in Los Angeles on a small scale in the club Viper Room.

In July 2004, Juliette and the Licks went for some gigs in the U.S. with the Vans Warped Tour. Subsequently, the decision to release an album dropped.

As Juliette Lewis kept her self-written songs for immature, but wanted to make not a pure cover album, she decided to hire a songwriting coach. Together with Linda Perry (4 Non Blondes ) Juliette Lewis developed the concept for the debut album ... Like a Bolt of Lightning. The album was recorded in eight days and was released in October 2004.

In spring 2005, Jason Morrison took his place on drums. Together they played a small number of appearances in Europe. In the same year they released their second album You're Speaking my Language.

The third album Four on the Floor ( with Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters on drums ) was released in September 2006.

In summer 2006, the band performed at Rock am Ring and Rock on in the park. From mid- September to mid-November 2006 Juliette and the Licks were on their first European tour. In Germany they played in Berlin, Munich, Hamburg, Frankfurt, Cologne, Dresden, Bochum and Heidelberg. In the summer of 2007 they performed at the Hurricane Festival in Austria and at the Frequency Festival as well as in Switzerland Greenfield Festival in Interlaken.

The beginning of 2009 was Juliette Lewis the provisional From the band on MySpace known. It is dedicated to a new project, the " Juliette and the New Romantiques " meant, but now still running under their name.
